My random tip this week is about being humble. By humble, I mean, don't consider yourself better than anyone else based on your socio-economic background (or anything else). In my career, I have seen engineers that have decided they are better than the trades or hourly workers because they went to university and have a ring on their pinky finger. I just think I'm different from the tradesmen because I've had a different experience. My experience isn't better. If they have been on the tools for 25 years, well that trumps my 4 years in school and there is going to be a lot I can learn from them. And honestly, when you approach it that way, you receive quite a bit more respect because you are earning it rather than demanding it.
