There is a Mexican restaurant in Calgary that my husband and I have been going to for years. We don't go very often and after this meal, we are starting to wonder why we don't go more. It is a bit of a hole in the wall and I've never seen it busy but is has the best Mexican food around, arguably, the best Mexican food this side of the border.
My husband has been eating here for 13 years and neither of us has ever had a bad meal. Regardless of what I've ordered, I've always loved it. And I can even make it work with Keto. I've had a few of their appetizers and this time we ordered the chicken tortilla soup. It was a very large bowl so we shared it and it was amazing. I am also a big fan of their appetizer combo but that one is not Keto friendly so we didn't order it this time. For a main course, I had the steak ranchero. Very simple but incredibly flavorful. Hubby had El Cuatro which, I think, is a great idea to try multiple things. It comes with a chimichanga, a flauta, a burrito and a mole enchilada. I have enjoyed everything I have tried and the best part - the prices are very reasonable. This place is great for when you are on a budget.
If you are interested in trying it out, the restaurant is on McLeod, just south of Chinook mall (a bit north of the Cheesecake Cafe). Post in the comments below if you've tried it and what you think.
